Former exchange student with a great interest for languages. Current translator of subtitles for movies and TV shows.

I have always had an immense liking for languages. Thanks to my mother, since I was 9 I was already studying English in the middle of the Amazon. Six years later, thanks to my father I had the great opportunity to live in Colorado for a year, experience the American school system and meet amazing people. My English improved then and has continued to improve with the work I have done and online, due to my participation on multiple forums, keeping contact with dear friends and entertainment from different venues.

My work related to languages has varied. The first experience I had in the workplace was to teach English to basic-level students at an English teaching school in Brazil, the same one I learned the language at. Unfortunately — or fortunately, depending on how one looks at it — I didn't work at that school for too long because I was accepted at a university in Rio de Janeiro for an undergraduate course. There, I continued teaching English at the same school, different branch, for a little over a semester. It was a rewarding experience and I learned a lot from it. From then on, I started earning money making and correcting subtitles for movies as a freelancer. I had a brief experience as a subtitle and closed captions quality controller for Drei Marc in Rio as well.

My hopes with this profile are to continue making quality translations for all kinds of media. How about we start a great partnership?
