Werewolf Treachery by Vianka Van Bokkem

Werewolf Treachery

Werewolf treachery

My parents and I belonged to Sergei’s werewolf clan. We lived by the Russia-Alaska border. When Sergei, our alpha-male, announced he was moving the clan to Alaska, it didn’t make sense to me. Our new village looked just like the one in Russia.

A few months later I was hunting lynx, mountain lions, moose, and polar bears. One night I felt like going to my favorite spot by the river; I snuck out of the cabin while my parents were sleeping. I turned into a wolf and started running in the direction of the river.

The fresh snow made me enjoy myself very much. Half an hour later I arrived at my destination; one of my favorite trees had a hole on the bottom, and I kept winter clothes there. When I was done dressing, I climbed up and sat on one of the branches. Snow was falling from the trees around me; the river was frozen, but I still liked it. A pair of rabbits were digging holes close by.

I was a little bit of a loner, and my behavior was probably perceived as strange to others, but not to me.
All of a sudden I heard loud voices and laughter. I spotted a brunette girl running away from a group of boys. She was extremely fast; seconds later her werewolf scent gave her away.
