The Retail Therapist by Colette Kebell

(Mission Impecable)

Chicklit with a difference

The retail therapist

“Window shopping! Don’t you just hate the term?
It is like going into a sweet shop and not being able to buy anything, or not knowing what to buy first. That is exactly my line of business, helping people make the right choice.
I’m one of those fashion consultants that are so popular nowadays amongst the upper crust, although I started ages ago. Choosing the right clothes for the right occasion is not an easy task: the dress has to match your personality and, if it can, enhance it.

This story is about how I abandoned the rat race, spending days in a legal office, and followed my dream of becoming a fashion consultant. I believe I’m something more though, I’m a Retail Therapist and I’m sure you are itching to know the story about how I started and how I helped my clients look fabulous! So, what are you waiting for?

Sales info:

I'm a relatively new author, so book sales have been slow in building but are on the rise.  I'm due to run a Kindle Unlimited Countdown deal later this month and so that should boost things.  This book has received some lovely reviews, it is currenly standing at 4.2* out of 5* on Amazon UK website, and has been said to be inspirational. It has now been revised (I've added an extra 2,000 words to it, in order that I could join The Romance Novalists Association in the UK, and my husband, being Italian, has translated it into that language.  The Italian title of this book is "Missione Impeccabile" but I would, due to having many friends in France, dearly love to find someone to translate it into French, together with my other book (which is the follow on from this) Blue and Green Should Never Be Seen! (Or so Mother Says) which the Italian version (Senza Tacchi non mi Concentro!) has received quite good sales.

Sample text:

“I got distracted by a tall, handsome guy with long, dark hair by the entrance, busy looking at himself in the mirror. He was wearing a nice grey cardigan, unfortunately paired with rust-coloured jeans that didn’t quite cover his ankles, no socks and a pair of designer shoes in electric blue. The shoes themselves were stunning, but the whole ensemble was just plain awful.

“Hey, have a peek at the Snow White ‘King’ down there. I could swear he just said ‘Mirror, Mirror on the wall…’,” I said.

Ritchie and Johnny looked at each other and started laughing, “That, my dear, is your date.”

Prince Charming spotted Ritchie and waved. I was doomed.”

LanguageStatus
French
Already translated. Translated by Agnes Ruiz
Author review:
Agnes Ruiz has been a pleasure to deal with, her translation has passed muster, though I wouldn't have expected anything different, due to her already being an author in her own right. She met all the deadlines that she herself had set, if anything I held up the process slightly, due to having her translation checked by a friend of mine. She is keen to start marketing the book, as am I and we both look forward to a fruitful relationship. I would highly recommend Agnes, to anyone who would like their work translated into French. I felt humbled by her approaching me, due to her already large catalogue of books and we've already communicating in respect of her translating my other current book.
German
Already translated. Translated by Alexandra Gentara
Author review:
Alexandra has been a delight to work with and delivered on time. Fab translation. I'm hoping that being an author in her own right, she can and shall assist with the marketing of it, once launched.
Italian
Unavailable for translation.
Portuguese
Already translated. Translated by Sueli Zardo
Author review:
I've only given Sueli four stars due to her probably not being an author, in her own right, so did not come up with a title that might be more catchy for the Portuguese/Brazilian Market. Other than that, she delivered on time and I love that she did and she has been responsive to requests concerning further details, such as asking how to say "translated by" so that I could add her name to my front cover :) I hope she now decides to translate my other current book but in the meantime wish her all the best :)
Spanish
Already translated. Translated by Eladia Robles Grau
Author review:
Eladia has been a delight to work with, despite hardships during the past year, which resulted in a bit of a delay with the translation. She has also added to her team and so can offer more of a comprehensive service. I'm chuffed that I have gotten to know her these past few months and hope our relationship continues well into the future, particularly now that she is going to be translating my follow on book to this one. She is also stepping up to the mark on the marketing front as well, which is great news. I would recommend working with her and her new colleague to anyone who is interested.
