Sample text:

Sienna Mendez paced around her office, lightly tapping a black fountain pen against her cheek. She was trying to make some sense of her sudden legal issues. She thought losing her mother to a heart attack was stressful enough, until she discovered that Pilar Mendez had a secret—a multi-million dollar secret.

***It was the day after Pilar’s funeral when she found out. Sienna was at her mother’s lavish home, packing away her personal effects to be given to a local charity. She had just placed the last box near the front door when the doorbell chimed. She glanced at her slender platinum watch and noted that it was too early for the charity to pick up her mother’s things. Moving towards the door, she casually checked her appearance in the foyer mirror. Satisfied that she was presentable, Sienna opened the door to her mother’s attorney, Anderson Stone.

“Anderson, please come in.” Sienna moved aside, as she gestured for him to enter.

Anderson hugged her as he entered the spacious Spanish styled home. “Sienna, I am so sorry for your loss,” he told her, as he kissed her cheek. Anderson was an old friend from college. He had kept the wolves away, while she studied to earn her first degree.

“I saw you and Paige at the funeral. I’m sorry I was unable to speak with you before you left,” she told him with a slight smile. The church had been filled with her and Pilar’s family and friends, making it virtually impossible for her to personally greet all who attended.

“Not a problem. I know you’ve had your hands full with Pilar’s sudden death. How have you been?”

“Anderson, I am so overwhelmed right now. With mama gone...Come, let’s sit down.” Sienna led him into the lavishly decorated sitting room.
