Freelance translating for around 18 years (Portuguese to and from English)

Having been born in Canada (near Toronto), I moved to Portugal when I was only 1 month old. I have lived, studied and worked here ever since.

I have three licenciate's degrees: the first one in English and Portuguese languages and literatures, the second one in Management and the third one in Tourism. I also took a specialisation in translation (Portuguese and English) some years ago.

I am a teacher of English and Portuguese at high school and I teach training courses. Apart from that, I have also been a freelance translator in the areas of Education and Sociology (for Instituto Politécnico de Beja and for the Universidade de Évora, some years ago), Orthodontics (for a dentist clinic called Novaclinica, in Beja), Laws (for some individual customers). I have also done some occasional works in the areas of religion, nursing,...

I have cooperated in the translation of some booklets in the area of ICT and kindergarten teaching for Instituto Politécnico de Beja.
