Sample text:

On April 18, 1987, after I repeated my wedding vows and tied the knot, I thought my marriage would last forever and live happily ever after with my new bride. In the years that passed I met other married couples whose lives changed because of divorce. I never thought it was going to happen to me.

There was no physical or verbal abuse, alcohol or drug problem in our marriage.  Nor was there any infidelity.  My ex and I had differences like every married couple but it wasn’t the differences that tore the marriage apart.  It was my ex-spouse’s inappropriate, destructive behaviors and unethical conduct.  She was not the person I thought I married.  It was incredibly painful to discover how our relationship had fallen apart.

I had no training manual on what to do. Instinctively, I went into rescue mode to save what I thought was a marriage, but all my attempts proved futile.
