The Yupik, a group of people living in Alaska, need about one hundred words related to the concept of ‘ice’. Each language mirrors the vision a country and its inhabitants have of the world and those who speak more than one language are privileged.

I am an Italian girl just graduating at master level. I have been studying stranger languages in three diffferent countries (Italy, France, Germany) thanks to a Joint Degree Program. For each language, I have focused on literature, linguistics, philology, culture, translation and even edition, and also in my free time I like translating and reading foreign literature and poetry. Besides, I wrote a bilingual poetry book with my translation from Spanish to Italian and it was such a beautiful experience that I would keep on doing it for the rest of my life.
