Why Cry? by Francois Keyser

A child reminds us to see the beauty of life in simple things when we are feeling down.

Why cry?

“Why Cry?” reminds us as adults of the beauty that there is to see in the world. A young boy who thinks his mother is crying, tells her about all the beautiful reasons in the world why she should not cry. His mother, we realize later, is not crying but cutting onions!

I was inspired to write this story when I saw a young boy crying outside the school where I read to children while his mother tried to calm him down. I managed to calm him down by showing him a book and promising to read it to him.
