Sample text:

What struck me more than the terrified look on Jake’s face, was the calm manner in which Sam was standing there staring back at me. Rather than a mask of rage, which was what I would have expected to find, Sam’s expression was quite the opposite. It was as though he were in a trance of some sort, and he appeared to have no sense of what was going on around him. At the same time, Jake was cowering in a corner of the shed, not daring to move a muscle. Glancing upwards, I noticed a variety of tools and sports equipment hovering high in the air above Jake’s head, and that was when I understood his fear. Apart from the usual balls and hoops and other harmless items that are kept in a school sports shed, there were also other things floating there, equipment that was much more dangerous. Without saying a word, Sam turned in Jake’s direction, and as if responding to his silent commands, the equipment began to swoop and dive just missing Jake’s head by mere inches. I watched in horror as a javelin spear suddenly whipped into the air and flew at lightning speed towards him. Covering his face with his arms, he pushed himself further into the corner, desperately trying to avoid the weapon that was heading his way. “SAM!!!!” I screamed loudly, “STOP!!!!” Distracted by the sound of my voice, Sam’s concentration faltered, and the javelin spear fell harmlessly onto the concrete floor at Jake’s feet. All the other items dropped to the floor as well. And when I looked at Sam again, he appeared dazed and shaken. I shook my head in dismay. “Sam, what are you doing? This is crazy!! You could have killed him!” Taking advantage of the disruption, Jake jumped to his feet and rushed towards the door, managing to step past me rather than passing anywhere near Sam. I only caught a fleeting glance of the fear in his eyes as he raced outside.
