Βολέγκαροι by Evridiki Manteli

Sales info:

The book was published in 2013 by a greek publishing house but there was no advertisement or distribution (sales were possible only through the publishing house's website) so the author chose not to renew the publishing contract and after 2015 the publishing rights returned to her. Between 2013 and 2015 when the book was sold without any promotion throught the publisher's website the book sold (as far as the author knows) about 500 copies due to its highly commercial nature.

Since then it is only sold through Lulu.com (Greek is not supported in Amazon) with no promotion (there is only the book website and the author's facebook page) and under these conditions it sells about 5-6 copies per month which are generated only by word-of-mouth.

Despite the lack of promotion and distribution the book was acceped by the readers and the reviewers with enthusiasm. In Goodreads is graded as 4,5/5 and has been voted for many lists including the ones named "Books That Should Be Made Into Movies" and "Books You Wish More People Knew About". The reader reviews are all excellent.

In 2015 was listed as one of the favourite fantasy books of spoileralert.gr.

You can find more reviews by both readers and reviewers at the book's website.

More profesional reviews here, here and here.

None of these reviews was initiated or payed by the author.

The book is higly commecial with excellent reviews by both readers and reviewers and has lot of potential. People keep saying it should be made into a movie and that it is like (or even better!) than Dan Brown's books. It only needs a good translation in an accessible language and distribution to fly off. It is a hidden gem. With your help it could even become a best seller!

Sample text:
