Uri Norwich is Realistic Fiction novel writer, specialazing in Modern historical novels rooted in true and real events and recognizable places, and the often-unpredictable currents of history.

Long before he began writing novels, Norwich acquired an education and professional experience in fields far removed from literature.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Economics, an academic background that eventually led him to a career in investment and money management. The worlds of technology, finance, and international affairs would later find their way, sometimes directly and sometimes almost imperceptibly, into his fiction.

His literary career began in 2013 with the publication of Russian Jews Don’t Cry. Writing the book presented him with an unusual challenge. Although the story drew deeply from his own life, Norwich resisted the conventions and expectations of traditional autobiography. Rather than allowing a predetermined genre to dictate how his story should be told, he chose to approach his past as a novelist might approach history: preserving the truth of experience while giving himself the freedom to explore its deeper meaning.

In 2014, he published The American Deluge, a political espionage novel markedly different in character from his first book. Here, his extensive knowledge of financial markets and the inner workings of Wall Street became part of the narrative of the story. Money, power, politics, and espionage intersect as they often do in the real world,

A Sometimes Strange Story, published in 2017, moved in yet another direction. At its center is a nineteen-year-old man who finds himself alone in a foreign country on the opposite side of the globe. He knows little about his adopted land and even less about what awaits him there. Then, almost by accident, a series of seemingly insignificant encounters begins to alter the course of his life.

In 2018, Norwich published The American Dossier, a sequel to The American Deluge. The novel returns to the world of espionage, but the nature of the game has changed. Wars are increasingly fought in cyberspace, fortunes can be transferred through cryptocurrency, and technology has created new weapons and new forms of intrigue. Yet some things remain stubbornly familiar. Espionage still has its assassins, its secrets, and its betrayals.

In May 2018, the International Thriller Writers organization admitted Uri Norwich to its ranks as a writer member.

His novels have also been made available as Audio Books and translated into major languages, allowing his stories to reach readers beyond the countries and cultures in which they were originally conceived.

Norwich is currently working on a television adaptation of The American Deluge.

His fiction is deeply informed by his extensive travels. Having crossed borders and experienced different cultures firsthand, he brings to his novels a particular sensitivity to place. Cities, streets, landscapes, and unfamiliar surroundings are not merely settings in his stories; they become part of the narrative itself, giving readers the sensation of being present in the time and place where the story unfolds.

At the heart of Norwich’s fiction is a recurring concern with freedom and democracy. His characters struggle with private ambitions, fears, loyalties, and choices. Sometimes they participate in history willingly; more often, history finds them.
