Short Author’s Biography of Nicholas Walker
I have been a professional author since 1983 and have had 20 full length children’s books published by Blackie, Ginn and Pan Macmillan in Britain, all of which have gone to paperback and the majority of which have been published all over Europe and the Commonwealth. I have a further 30 novels available on Amazon, 10 children’s and 20 adult’s. My publisher in France is Flammarion and the two books I have had published in America were brought out by Scholastic both of which were bestsellers (100,000 copies in three months).
I have written for The BBC, both for radio and television, plays, talks and comedy sketches. In 1992 I won the Radio Times Drama Award. In addition I have had over 100 articles published by magazines from Newsweek to Reader’s Digest. In the nineties I worked as a freelance writer for The Sunday Express doing a series of monthly articles on dangerous sports. I have an internet book on exam technique available which is now being considered by Ginn and I have also written two textbooks on science for schools. In addition I have two grammar books published in The Middle East which are also coming out in Pakistan this year.
Most of my novels are still available as can be verified on Amazon.com and the two I had published in America are still used on two school boards that I am aware of and are entitled: Ice Dancing and Ice Princess.
I have a further 30 books on Amazon/Kindle most of which sell reasonably well.
