Nahir faral leyría

Hello! I am an English-Spanish / Spanish-English translator from Argentina. I graduated top of my class from university, specializing in legal translation. I'm currently working as a freelance sworn translator, mostly dealing with legal and economic texts (contracts, corporate documents and financial statements, among others.) However, I have translated a wide variety of topics, ranging from news articles (on topics such as technology, science, economy and politics) to technical texts (a scientific article on methane gas emissions published on the PNAS magazine), and literature (a science ficiton novel called "Mindclone", which I translated on this very same platform and is currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple and several other platforms.)

My extensive college formation in translation provides me with more in-depth knowledge of both English and Spanish. In addition, I am an avid reader, which contributes to enhancing my grammar, vocabulary, punctuation and spelling skills in both languages.

My number one priority when translating a text is to find the most appropriate term that better fits the context, in order to provide a meticulously accurate translation that flows naturally. I believe that, preferably, the reader should not notice that the text is a translation, since if he does, the translation is not natural and precise.

In college and in my professional life, I have acquired much practice in the use of researching tools, which helps me optimize the time and improve the quality of the translation. Online glossaries, search engines and dictionaries are only some of the tools that I employ when I am translating a text (especially a text with specific or technical vocabulary.)

I have always been passionate about languages and literature. When I was younger, I used to write many short stories, and I even started my own fantasy novel (although I must admit that, due to studying and work, I no longer write as much as I used to.)

Among some of my favorite writers, I could mention Graham Greene, Stephen King, Heinrich Böll, Oscar Wilde, George Orwell, Edgar Allan Poe, J. K. Rowling, Julio Cortázar, Alfonsina Storni, Horacio Quiroga, Mark Twain and, most recently, George R. R. Martin.

I am especially interested in fiction, in particular novels and short stories within the fantasy, science fiction, horror and crime/mystery genres. As regards non-fiction, I enjoy reading about scientific topics such as biology, astronomy and paleontology (in fact, I intend to pursue a career in paleontology in the near future.) I am also highly interested in the humanities (anthropology, psychology, sociology, religion and the like.) All in all, I am a fervient fan of writing in general.

Low review score because Nahir after looking at the book to translate she couldn't do it. Therefore I wish her the best in her career.
