Experienced Translator - more than 50 novels of many genres

Michael griffin

Born 1960. Father US citizen, mother German. I have lived in the US for a couple of years.
Always been an avid reader with a keen interest in literature.
Studied librarianship in Germany, worked at a theatre, as an antique salesman, as an art director for ad- and web companies and as a consultant for complex information architectures. Translated loads of technical papers.
I started translating fiction around 2010. I worked as a ghost translator, editor and proofreader for other translators to ease their workload. 57 novels etc. - psycho-, action-, suspense thriller, fantasy, mystery, historical, adult, sci-fi, vampire romance, chick-lit, satire, non-fiction, movie, art essay.
I've spent considerable energy on perfecting my workflow and my capabilities as a translator. Love to dive into topics and vocabularies - be it canonical law, weapons, the language of passion, the world of ghouls, vampires and fairies, tough action with fight scenes, long monologues, Roman culture, hacking or American subcultures.
Fast and reliable. I am quite picky about correct German terms, spelling and grammar, but strive to maintain the authors' tonality and gist.
