Native French and German freelance translator with PhD in Social Science/UN work experience

Marianne pasty-abdul wahid

Born in Latin-America from German and French parents, married to an Indian. I have lived my life between Germany, France and India, and hold a PhD in Social Sciences (cultural and religious anthropology, regional focus: India) from the French EHESS Institute. I am fully trilingual (French, German, English) and multicultural.

Translation has been part and portion of my studies, research work and professional activity for the past 15 years. Today, translation and research are integral parts of my daily activity: I am always eager to combine both tools and the connected approaches for ensuring accessibility and suitability of my research and giving more depth to my translations. My expertise in the field of translation and proofreading developed over the years, as well as my practical hands-on experience provide me with a proper understanding of what I'm translating & the needed technical knowledge and rigor for completing quality jobs within a given format, language level and deadline.

I have worked 3 years as a consultant for United Nations (Social Sciences & Communication) and have taught French, German and English for tuition/private classes in France, Germany and India.

Areas of expertise: social sciences (ethnology, anthropology, religion, sociology), UN documents, marketing, fashion, food industry, entertainment, tourism, sports, art, paranormal
