I'm a Freelance Translator with imore than thirty years of experience in Translation and Interpreting both from English and French into Spanish. I have a Certificate in English-Spanish Translation from the University of Toronto, SEL (Toronto, Canada) and currlently live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In addition, I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Concordia University and 25 years of experience as a Counsellor at an English University in Canada. All of this after doing my first twelve years of schooling in Latin America. This academic and personal backgound gives me the confidence to comfortably translate between these three languages.
Having worked from 1990 to 2015 as a Student Advisor at Concordia University and trained as a Life Coach (Erickson, Vancouver, Canada) I have also accumulated extensive experience and professional development in the areas of Education and Wellness.
Born in Vina del Mar, Chile, I settled in Canada nearly thirty-five years ago and have frequently travelled in Spain and the Caribbean, becoming well acquainted with many of the regionalisms of the Spanish language.
My translation experience includes assignments with the Montreal Children`s Hospital as well as with academic institutions in the area of Montreal. I have worked in the fields of Sociology, Political Science, Housing and Education. My professional work however, is not limited to these technical or academic areas as I enjoy above all working for clients who require support with personal matters such as letter-writing, translation of legal documents or translation and communication for vacation-related purposes.
Finally, beyond all of my academically-sound training in Translation and other disciplines, you will find the passion that I feel for the written word.
