"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

María florencia tebano

I earned my degree as Conference Interpreter and Certified Technical and Literary Translator from Universidad del Salvador (Argentina). I joined the University of Pennsylvania in 2000 as a Lecturer in Foreign Languages, and served as designer and Director of the Summer Immersion Program in Latin America for the MBA/MA at The Lauder Institute of Management & International Studies, The Wharton School, for two years. From 2001 through 2005, I took on the design and coordination of the Business Spanish and Spanish for the Professions courses at the Department of Romance Languages, UPenn. In 2006, I returned to Buenos Aires, and have since then specialized in cross-cultural communication, in the design of content-oriented courses and the coaching of instructors of Spanish as a Foreign Language. In 2009, I joined the Business Administration Department at Universidad de San Andrés (Buenos Aires) as a Senior Consultant to design and provide oversight to all customized immersion programs offered to universities around the globe. I also serve as chief translator of the Higher Education Series, Universidad de Palermo (UNESCO). I passionately alternate these responsibilities with assignments as simultaneous-consecutive interpreter and consecutive interpreting trainer based in Buenos Aires.

My interests and fields of expertise involve Scientific and Literary Translation, Conference Interpreting, Cross-cultural Communication, Business & Economics, Latin American Studies and Comparative Analysis of English and Spanish Syntax.  I´ve been in academia for several years now, have also served as manager in business environments, and served as cultural broker in various scenarios. I have managed teams and been part of them, respecting deadlines and excelling in quality standards. I have also been responsible for designing plans, communicating courses of action and implementing programs, budgeting projects and reconciling costs. I believe in teamwork, in clarity of goals, and in genuine empathy with customers and clients.
