Reading is communicating

Evelyn shiroki

I understand translation is an art and the translation of a literary work is an agonizing task - as is every creative process - because one must understand that translating is not simply a game of lexical exchange. To translate a literary work is to recreate it in another language, but without depriving it of its original characteristics, and this is not an easy task, it requires a lot of skill and a good dose of common sense as well. It is necessary to set the tone, adapt certain expressions, sometimes reverse certain periods without hurting the original text.
This challenge is what motivates me for this kind of work.
