Hello and welcome to my profile!

I am Erika Ferreira (my pen name) a full-time translator, specialized in Legal, Financial, and Educational materials.

I've got a Licentiate Degree in International Relations, with a major in 'International Politics and Cultural Areas' (Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic Cultures) and a Bachelor's Degree in English. I also attended 2 years of the 'Languages, Literatures and Cultures' course, with a major in English and German.

From 2004 to 2008, I've worked for a government entity as translator-interpreter. From 2009 to 2014, I've taught English as a Second Language in Portugal, and since 2013 have been a freelance translator for many international agencies.

I am the mother of a teenager, and have been proudly adopted by the most playful and funny cat in the whole wide world. My passions revolve around music, books, cooking, and, most recently, gardening. 

Although I enjoy many types of literature, my favorites revolve around murder-mysteries, self-help and romance.
