I am a literary teacher and a translator. Why don't we meet up?

Since I was an adolescent I started translating about everything, translation was for me the best way to gain access to culture. I studied foreign languages at the University of Naples, already opening myself up to the world, winning scholarships that gave me the possibility to live abroad for short periods of time and even taking part in television programmes as Italian candidate....I translated a lot of computer science at the time, and attended all the schools I could attend to improve my English and German: Schools for Interpreters ad Translators, Goethe Institut, colleges. I also went to Berlin to study about the problem of the wall when Berlin was "eine geteilte Stadt". As soon as I got my degree I started teaching in state schools and I immediately started cultural exchanges with sixth form colleges in England and schools in Wien and in Hamburg. At the same time I translated about town planning, finance, commerce, law, economics, genetics, chemistry and medicine for various job posters (University, Comune di Napoli etc.) and was assigned the task of translating brochures and captions of findings of the Antiquarium of Boscoreale (Museum of the findings of Herculaneum and Pompeii). Since 2006 I have been working on the localization of websites in English and in Italian and cooperating (translations of tourism, games, software) with agencies in Europe, in China, in the United States. Since 2007 I have been carrying out translations of books of poetry and environmental studies, EU patents, airlines, food and drinks as well as translation of articles for publication in medical journals about palliative medicine, resuscitation, emergency service, advance directives, medical software for training physicians, dental texts....
I have also experienced teaching Physics in English and I am now tutor of translators and of teachers.

I really got lost in the Tower of Babel...

Author review:
Very conscientious translator with a good feel for literary and the more unusual forms of English. Emilia will always ask for a steer on language and usage if she is unsure of something so you don't have to worry that something is being misinterpreted and possibly mistranslated, and she is very good at keeping you updated with progress on the translation and any likely delays or other issues. She is friendly and approachable. Recommended translator.
