well, I am an individual(kind of obvious) but a very curious one, born on the city of Punto Fijo in 1997, I was raised with a lot of access to other languages, developing an interest for them since I was young, my grandfather knew English very well since he uses to work with both American and British companies here in town, as well his neighbor was dutch, so there always was a sense of speaking internationally, furthermore my father bought a lot of products directly from the Us, giving my brother and me the opportunity to play games, watch movies and read books in English, my first memories of me speaking English are me playing and shouting the attacks of my pokemon in the 64 version of pokemon stadium.

After that, I went through mandatory English classes in school, they were a piece of cake since by that point I have started to listen to music in English, so I sang along to my tunes when I was alone, practicing my tone, speech, and pronunciation. after many years of this, I got a habit of talking with anyone who knew English, just to practice and start a conversation, this got me in the teacher good eye as a good student, unbeknownst to her, I help my friends cheat in the tests in exchange for money or food.

Fast forward to my mid-teens and I started to pick up books, and literature was what took my functional conversational understanding to a whole new level, really challenging myself to comprehend difficult words and sentence structure. and then... it all change.

I discovered something even better, it was youtube, this website opens the gates to an even more interesting English speaking world, they were American, British, Australian and basically every accent you could think of; in this platform, I got to listen, read and play along in my second language comfortably much to the dismay of people how did not understand me, by that point my mind was fully bilingual since I watched stand up comedy shows form the likes of Robin Williams and George Carlin, for me that was the final point, to be able to understand the jokes of other cultures and languages since in my opinion required an understanding that goes beyond the one provided by school or courses.

Next, I went to college for my undergraduate degree, for 3 and half years I lived in Maracaibo, studying at Rafael Urdaneta University, where a was exposed to academic terms and structure having to write essays, papers, monographs and speeches on Politics, Economy, Philosophy and everything in between. thanks to that I got a fairly lucrative gig, translating my friends and acquaintances works, also since I also study methodology, that allow me to correct their papers, and charge additional for the other service. in one semester I even was a substitute teacher of English in an academy, in spite of not having any certificate or formal training, was hired and paid for my services.

then I got my degree and translation has always been one of my lucrative activities, even to this day, I have been hired as an interpreter as well. after this, I´m learning german as a third language, and after that my plan is to learn Japanese since they are other languages I am familiar with thanks to music and tv. soo that's my story I hope you like it, and we can work together translating and editing.
