I am a native Italian translator. I have been translating texts aimed at publishing since 2006. In the last 4 years, I have only dealt with travel guides. Last April I went to LBF2014 to get some inspiration and new ideas regarding the role of the translator in a publishing industry going global and after the spreading of self-publishing. I found out there is a world of indie authors who are actually searching for translators. Through some internet searching, I came upon Babelcube and I liked the idea of a direct collaboration between authors and translators, which involves translation itself, translation editing and trying to spread the news of the book in translation later. Though not being the same as writing a book from zero, the translation of a book, especially fiction, is a creative process, i.e. it takes time to get a quality product. I hope I can find some good people to work with, further grow up professionally and enjoy myself in what I do.
