My name is Diana and I have been working as a translator since 2012. I began translating for the Embassy of the United States in Bolivia, for which I still translate today. I translate legal documents such as birth certifitates, marriage certificates, death certificates, powers-of-attorney, affidavits, testimonies, etc. I also got the chance to translate some academic documents for students who are applying to universities in the United States. Through this experience, I was contacted by an American academic advisor and translator, who offered me the chance to help him translating academic documents for the students he was helping with their applications. In 2015, I started working as a translator for a company called Communication Works, which offers its translation services to Compassion International, a sponsorship program through which people all over the world sponsor children living in poverty in many countries, my home country Bolivia being one of them. This job implies translating the letters the children and their sponsors write to each other. I was currently evaluated and promoted to an advanced traslator, which allows me to not only translate the letters and make a higher income, but also to translate documents and projects for Compassion International. In October of 2017, I was given the opportunity to translate a book called "Comission To Every Nation", written by a missionary who founded a missionary agency by the same name. The Spanish version of this book is currently being sold in several Spanish-speaking countries where this agency has missionaries. I have also had the chance to translate several financial and environmental projects for universities and financial development agencies to be presented to other foreign entities to help them support and invest in their projects.
