Carmen Avila (Saltillo, 1981). Author of "Ciudades Visibles" and "El virus de Munch" (IMAC, 2017). Awarded with the Dolores Castro Prize of essays and poetry written by women.  "Terrible extrañeza" (poetry personal anthology) (ICOCULT, 2016). “Postales del exilio” (Poetry). (Published by JUS, Mexico in 2013). Awarded with the National Literary Prize in Poetry “Enriqueta Ochoa” 2010 (City Council of Torreon and National Institute of Arts (INBA)).

“La Máquina de vivir” (Poetry). (Tierra Adentro, México, 2008). Honorific Mention in the National Youth Literary Prize in Poetry “Francisco Cervantes Vidal” 2008 (City Council of Queretaro).
“Mercedes del 63 y otros cuentos” (Short stories). (ICOCULT-La Fragua, Monterrey, 2007).
“El Barco de los insomnes” (to be published in 2014). Awarded with the National Literary Prize in Short Stories “Rafael Ramírez Heredia” 2013 (City Council of Tampico). Artist in Residence fellowship (from May-August 2011) given by the National Fund for Culture and Arts and the National Council of Sciences and Technology of Mexico and the Northeast Fund for Culture and Arts Mexico (CAMAC Arts Center France and other countries of Europe). Coahuila State Youth Award 2010 in artistic activities.“Young artist fellowship” 2006-2007 by the National Fund for the Culture and Arts of Mexico (FONCA). Saltillo City Youth Award 2006 for artistic activities and 2010 for academic activities.
