Bruno mazza

My name is Bruno, I'm a native speaker of Italian raised in our most representative city, Rome. My fascination with books and literature is not a new nor a passing fad, but it has been developing along with me. I read my first book when I was 9 years old (it was a novel by the well known sci-fiction author, I. Asimov), and from then on I have established a long term friendship with literature. I do love reading different kind of books, in particular 19th century novels (authors like Dostoevskij and Gogol are in my top list) from Russia, England, Australia, France, Germany, Austria etc., but I also like reading essays (both philosophical and scientific) and poems by different authors (T. Eliot being my favourite one). After getting a Bachelor's Degree in Asian Culture and Languages in 2007, I started my long series of trips back and forth from China (my major was in asian languages and cultures), which granted me the invaluable opportunity to deepen my knowledge of an ancient culture, as well as gaining some experience in the field of professional translation and proofreading. Last year I was hired by an European-Chinese company based in China, and besides others duties I had to translate different kind of texts, ranging from articles, websites content, marketing material, short essays etc. There I also got my HSK certificate (level 6), which attests my competence in written and spoken Chinese.

About the English language, I've been in Ireland several times and there I attended a business and academic English course for 6 months. Last year I've obtained an IELTS certificate (score 7.5, but now I'm preparing for higher scores both in TOEFL and Cambridge exams).

Lastly Italian, my mother language. Without hesitation I can say that I'm able to translate into Italian almost effortlessly, and, more important, I'm able to make a text sounding natural and "smooth", avoiding the "word for word" translation issue.

My working experience includes: translation and proofreading in different fields (pharmaceutical, marketing, food&beverage, literature, art, history, websites, philosophy and science to a certain extent).

Now I want to continue developing my language and managerial skills, and in the meanwhile I'm looking for more job opportunities to keep on building my career. Translating your e-book into Italian would be a nice challenge to start with.

P.s.: once the book is fully translated into the target language, I guarantee long lasting marketing support in order to reach all the relevant local media, so as to enhance the book's selling potential, and make it known to a wider range of readers.

Bruno was very quick to translate the book, and to a very high standard. Communication was excellent, and he is a pleasure to work with. I completely recommend him.

If you're looking for an Italian translation, I highly recommend you look no further than Bruno Mazza. Most importantly, his translation was impeccable. Furthermore he was highly communicative, engaged and easy to communicate with throughout the entire translation process. He went above and beyond the translation itself, by doing research to learn how to present American culture in language Italian readers would understand. Since my material dealt with a specific time and culture, I appreciated very much Bruno's efforts to translate the time and culture to a different language and time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Luigi is hard working, professional, conscientious and really pleasant to work with.

When Luigi made an offer to translate my book 'Quiet Phoenix' in Italian, I immediately realised why he would be THE translator. This is because whereas other translators barely translate the sample text, Luigi translated a full 20 pages of my book before making me an offer. This is what I call 'going the extra mile'!

Most importantly, Luigi met all deadlines and completed the job in a fast, efficient manner. When the final manuscript came back, it was neatly formatted. That is why publishing the document was such a breeze.

I also liked how he translated my book's title. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is interested in getting his books translated in Italian.
