I have been translating professionally for 8 years; I am certified for both English and Spanish by The Global Translation Institute. Most of my experience is  in pedagogy and legal, and 2 books (a biography and a hand book on recycling. 

I consider myself very knowledgeable of the importance of maintaining the author's voice, style, tone and all those elements that make reading a book interesting in the original language.  I make sure it reads the same in spanish, or vice-versa. I take courses and continue to read books on translation techniques that I know will help me in my translation career.  When I translated the biography, I kept in touch with the author and his people whenever I had a doubt about something in the book.  It was a very good experience.
