I was born to parents who could not afford going to school but who managed to inculcate the passion for reading to me. I have always read, but never as much as I would have liked to. After successfully attending a High School specializing in Maths and Sciences, I understood that another five years of College focusing on the same subjects was just not an option. I then applied and was admitted to the former Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators (SSLMIT) of the Univeristy of Bologna (Italy) where I spent my undergrad years studying mainly translation and liaison interpretation between Italian, English and Spanish. Because I was convinced there were still many new things to learn, I also earned my Master's Degree in Specialized Translation at the same institution in 2013 after translating various genres, once more, from my native Italian into English and Spanish - and the other way around, and defending a thesis on the literary work of Leonard Cohen.

After that, life took me to Lisbon, where I have been working since the beginning of 2014 and where I live, unfortunately not off translating. However, my passion for translation never died. I just need to figure out how to make it a big piece of my existence.

I have been involved in charity and volunteer work all my life, belonging to a couple of associations, helping out in my hometown and just lending a hand whenever I could, to anybody who asked. It is probably because of this altruistic side of me that I enjoy translating so much: at the end of the day translators help readers to discover something they wouldn't be able to approach, and writers to spread their word in a wider world than they would reach alone.
