Hi I'm Alexandre Díaz
I'm a brazilian translator, sometimes author of small poems or texts, usually for fun or involving politics. I've started studying english ever since i was about 8 years old, so yeah, it's been a long time. My father is also from Uruguay so you can expect me to know a bunch of spanish and some french since i studied some of that. I've never been abroad to learn english with natives in person but i did and still do speak with them constantly through Discord - a text and voice app.
The reason I wanna give this a shot is because I love reading new things and translating them to a natural level of understanding. Usually I can do that with both english and portuguese, i take my time doing adjustments and all of that but it's definitely worth it. You see, most people will usually translate something and leave it as it sounds like in another language, whereas that translation in specific doesn't really talk to natural speakers as much. The expressions need to be molded accordingly to what the public is getting also, nothing too deep to add natural meaning, sometimes it's needed to tone down a few words that in another language might not be so used, and that happens a lot with portuguese. Other times the text will require a deeper approach, and both languages also have that, so that's where I get into. Now I can work with spanish and french because they are very similar languages but it would be mostly for translations to portuguese or english and not the opposite.
That's basically me. I'm dedicated to making a beautiful translation, to making it sound as if it wasn't something that came from abroad. I might take a little longer since im not used to doing this as a job, but we can pick up our differences and see what we can sort of. Thanks for the opportunity!
