English to Spanish literary translator

I am a professor of Spanish (PhD), a journalist, a writer and an English to Spanish translator. I have always worked with words and being a translator is a consequence of my passion for language and writing.

I also have experience as a proofreader. Recently I have developed my translation career working for non-profit organizations. Nevertheless, literary translation is one of my passions. I have translated a script for a short film produced by the Film School at Florida State University and also a few literary pieces that have not been published.

I have published some of my own work, creative and academic, in journals, literary magazines and a couple of anthologies. I believe being a writer and a linguist is a perfect combination to become a good literary translator. I am also an avid reader, which is another important characteristic for a translator.

I am from Venezuela and I have traveled around Latin America. I know the language, the culture and the literature from the region. I specialize in journalism, art, literature and education.
