I don't hear the crack above the wind wailing through the rigging like a banshee, but I feel it, just as Zebedee crests another seventy-foot wave driven by the raging hurricane force storm. The spray from the waves stings my cheeks and plasters my blonde hair to my head. I lost my yellow slicker hat long ago. As a fisherman, I have great respect for the sea, but this is the first time I’ve ever feared it.

My head hangs over the rail, watching the churning dark water race by us on our way down into the trough. Not a dignified position for the great King Abraham or rather, the reincarnation of that great leader. At least, that’s what Ezekiel keeps telling me. His mission has fallen to me, with the help of the Seven Kings of Humanity. I must defeat the Master to prevent the destruction of all humanity. So far, I’ve followed the lead of King Ezekiel, the captain of this vessel.

I wish it worked against all things, like drowning.

Who knew leaving would be so deadly? The water was placid but minutes ago. I collapse to the deck and roll over. Looking up into the driving rain, I feel the drops hit my face. The raging storm blocks my view of my love, Luna. How I miss her heavenly embrace. My heart fills with love and joy just at
