Author review:
I cannot comment competently on the foreign language but can say that the translator was polite and easy to work with. However, when asked to make some minor but possibly time-consuming corrections to layout (about three hours in total) the work was not done well, and I found myself doing it. The translator did state I could get back to her but the book being translated was not unduly long so I did the work. Layout: Layout of text, paragraphing and dialogue all seem to cause problems. I don't know why because I think the rules are fairly uniform throughout the European languages. Even the positions of titles and then texts can vary (spacing issues in general) and some translators happily space different titles and chapter-texts differently from one chapter to the next.
