The gatekeepers; the ushers tg

The gatekeeper is a person who GUARDS or CONTROLS the access or entrance to something or someplace. The gatekeeper also supervises, monitors, or oversees the traffic, or flow of people or information, or the actions of others, or the passage into the gateway.
They are GUARDIANS, CUSTODIANS, WATCHMEN, PROTECTORS, LOOKOUTS, USHERS, CARETAKERS, PATROLERS, WARDENS, SENTINELS, OR KEEPERS OF THE GATE or DOOR, or ENTRANCE.
In the Old Testament gatekeepers were readily known as guardians or security guards to the entrances of certain places, “…the watchman called to the gatekeeper and said, “Behold, another man running by himself…” (2 Samuel 18:26 NASB); or cities, “…they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city…” (2 Kings 7:10-11 NASB); or houses, “…the slave-girl who kept the door …” (John 18:17 NASB); or sacred grounds, “…Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark… Obed-edom and Jehiah also were gatekeepers for the ark…” (1 Chronicles 15:23-24 NASB).
