Sample text:

Actually, self-discipline is temporary.  That's why you shouldn't have the mindset that you'll need to grunt your way to success until the end of time.  This is because the most successful people - from athletes to musicians to movie celebrities, etc. - became massively successful at the point when they became very prolific at what they do.  And by that, I mean to say they came to the point where they were hardly thinking about what they were doing because they had mastered these tasks already.  Eventually, discipline should transition into becoming habits.

The reason for this is self-discipline is dependent on your being able to exercise your willpower.  The more willpower you have, the easier it is to do the things you really don't want to do.  But relying on willpower alone to succeed and to continue staying successful is like driving from one end of the United States to the other using first gear only.  Not only is it inefficient, i.e., consumes an excessive amount of gas and takes the longest amount of time to get to your destination, it's also potentially bad for the car.  This is because while first gear is a necessity to start the car moving from a complete dead stop, for moving at really slow speeds during monster traffic jams, or for climbing a very steep slope, it is the gear in which a car works the hardest.  So, if you make the car work at its hardest for several hours straight, it will lead to your car's engine overheating.

Aside from being the most inefficient way to succeed, relying mostly on willpower, i.e., self-discipline, to succeed and stay successful in life, another important reason why you'll eventually need to graduate from using self-discipline is the limited nature of your willpower.
