Sales info:

This book is part of a series of 8 fairy tales retold. Collectively they sell enough each month in English to cover several of my monthly bills. This series is already being translated to Portuguese and I would like to find translators interested in working through the whole series in French and in Spanish. Each book is under 30,000 words, and several are less than 20,000 words. I'd prefer a translator interested in taking on all eight books (one at a time, of course), so the complete collection can also be published as one volume, offering an additional purchase point for readers.

Sample text:

He looked out the window and smiled. He called to the coachman to let them out at the park. “Let’s walk, shall we?” he asked Marcella.

“A walk would be lovely.”

They stepped out of the carriage and followed the trail beside the lake. Prince William broke the silence at long last with a question.

“So, Ella, tell me about yourself,” he said. “Who are you? What do you like to do?”

Marcella felt a lump in her throat. She didn’t know what to say that would be true and at the same time not contradict anything Cinderella might have said. Eventually she thought of an interest that she and her sister shared.

“I love to read, actually. My family doesn’t know that I do it, but I am always bringing books up to my room from our library. The library was my father’s. My mother doesn’t care much for books but I remember when I was young that my father would read to me, and later as I grew older my mother’s helper would read to me before bed. I have always had a fondness for books.”
