Sample text:

One way to make sure that you will be productive is to commit to a project or a task publicly. I don't mean you should post it as a status on Facebook or anything, but telling even just one friend about your task and your plan will be a huge help to increase your productivity. You can try telling at least one family member or co-worker. Do this every time you have a deadline to ensure that you will reach it.

When somebody else knows about your deadline, unconsciously, you will be more productive because you won't want to admit that you weren't able to do it, right? Whereas, when you don't tell anyone, it is so easy to be lazy and not do anything, because you don't have to worry about being ashamed when you don't finish a task in time. When your only competition is yourself, it is easy to be lazy and convince yourself that it is ok even if you don't finish. This attitude is what usually leads us to being overwhelmed when a lot of tasks have already stacked up, and we end up adding more stress for ourselves when we have to complete a lot of tasks all at once instead of taking care of them one at a time well in advance of the due dates.

In addition to telling somebody about your task, you can set a consequence for yourself. For example, if you don't finish your task on time, you will give money to your little brother, or you will not watch TV that night, or even that you can't eat chocolates for a period of time. It's up to you, but make sure that you won't like the consequence, so that you will make a point to finish the task in time.
