Out like a goddess

They say she’s a goddess, but she definitely doesn’t act like one.

Evangeline Lewis thinks the gods must be crazy. First, they say she’s a goddess, and now they’ve given her a job that almost no one can do: fix whatever the gods of Olympus break.

Soon, Eva takes her first official client and discovers that someone is kidnapping gods…and no one on Olympus cares. Her investigation leads her deep into the inner workings of Olympus, and the gods that call it home. With visions of what’s to come, Eva finds herself in a race against time to find and confront the force behind the vanishing gods.

With every disappearance, the stakes only get more dire. When Eva's visions finally reveal the culprit, she’s left with a difficult choice: embrace her true nature as a goddess and all the pain that comes with it…or leave Olympus to face total, irreparable destruction.

A loud crash on the other side of her door made Evangeline Lewis jump. The unmistakable thumping of her roommates fighting in the hall reverberated through the walls. Please don’t put another hole in the drywall.

Eva laughed to herself as she thought about her first day of actually working in the office. Even though the guys were still yelling and cursing each other in the hall, Eva just enjoyed having someone in the house. The silence was deafening when she was left alone for too long.

Before rolling out of bed, Eva worried about what she was doing with her life. There was no way to tell if working for the gods of Olympus would work out. Especially when she had no idea what she was supposed to do, or how she would help them.

Opening her bedroom door, Eva narrowly missed getting hit when Kai launched a towel through the air. He used his powers to make sure that it landed on Erie's head across the hall. Yeah, they may have been born as gods with the power of the wind, and they were all most definitely adults, but they still acted like children half the time. Rolling her eyes and dodging more objects flying through the air, Eva went down the hall to the kitchen. She wanted to get a bagel and make sure that she had everything she needed for work.

The only one of the gods of the wind who didn't live with her was sitting there, eating a banana and reading the newspaper.

"Boreas," she greeted with a smile. "What are you doing here so early?" Normally, he didn’t show up until after everyone had eaten breakfast and calmed down a little.

Boreas and the others owned a business in New Mexico when Eva met them. She’d been driving from Texas to Surprise after making a very impulsive decision, and her car had gotten three flat tires in less than three hours.
