Love by convenience - part 2

Amanda was living with the man she had always wanted by her side. Happiness was all over her home and a great peace had taken the place. This is how she felt weeks after the accident on the stairs, which was sometimes reminded by her because of the pain in her body. A laugh came to her lips as she remembered the terror she saw in the beloved man's eyes as she fell. Even though she was in danger of getting all torn up, she thanked the stair for knocking her down. If it wasn't for it, Tony might have left and never again would have given her the opportunity to say she loved him and she wouldn't be able to repay the unconditional love he always gave her.

Her son looked happier, and his bright eyes always showed this feeling when he was around Tony. There was only one small detail missing that, as the social worker had told, was practically solved. Barbara would soon be among them and the family would be even more beautiful and happy.

Antônio was happy with the possibility of having another child at home. And Amanda knew how important that adoption was to him, and that, encouraged her to make this decision.

"When is my little sister coming home?" — the boy asked, anxiously.

"Next week we'll go to the adoption agency, son. Don't worry, she will be here soon." — she lovingly replied.

"Can we give her a name or does she already have one? I’d like Isabelle." — Amanda smiled at her son's concern. She had told him that they could name the child, since she was not yet registered, although she was already a year old and was called by Barbara by the caregivers at the support center. The little angel had been abandoned in the institution as a baby and the assistants preferred to leave her without registration until her adoption was confirmed. Many people wanted to adopt her, but few were ready to do so. As a result, she grew up there without her civilian identification.

"Is Isabelle okay, Mom?" — Lucas asked, looking at her pleadingly.

"Yes, my love! Her name will be Isabelle as we agreed, remember?" — she asked, hugging him. The boy left the room excited without saying any more words. Amanda watched him, smiling. Lucas had already turned six, but he was still small and sensitive. Not like he was two years ago, thanks to the family examples he now had in his life. He was small and fragile still.

That month, Amanda would take the opportunity to stay at home. Sometimes she would go to her store, which now had one more employee, and Carol had become the manager, replacing her in a brilliant way. Her son was on vacation, and Isabelle would soon arrive. It was the perfect time to take some time for her family. Not to mention her

and Antônio, who were on a second honeymoon and he showed himself exactly what he had always been: the man of her life. A noise at the gate told her that he was coming. Amanda smiled happily. It was amazing how she still felt her heart race with joy when he returned home or they were out for a romantic dinner together. That pleasant feeling she still kept alive was definitely refreshing for Amanda.

"Nothing like having a husband who knows how to keep his wife's love alive." — she said to herself, as she straightened the silk shirt and shorts she was wearing.

With slow steps, she walked into the room to meet her love.
