When people are procrastinating to do something, they usually do not realize the consequences. These negative consequences mostly are unnoticeable. However, little by little they accumulate and before you know it, it has greatly affected you. The effects of procrastination can range from harmless to debilitating. First off is stress. When deadlines are so far long, it is easy to put off things for later. But as the deadline draws nearer, procrastinators’ stress level starts to climb up, and at the last minute peaks at an all-time high. You become very nervous and your anxiety intensifies. Every time you procrastinate, you are just dragging out the time that you should have used to get the job done. Something that you should have been stressed out for one night stretches on for more days and nights, and subjecting your body to prolonged stress is damaging to your health.

Studies have found that long exposure to stressful things keeps up your body in a fight or flight mode, and the longer it is in that condition, the more negative effects will impinge on your body. For one, your immune system will be impaired, and so it cannot fight off diseases as effectively as they should, leading you to be easily prone to diseases.  From cold to coughs and simple infections, your body will very vulnerable
