WHAT IS BLOOD PRESSURE?

Your heart pumps blood into a particular type of blood vessel, called the arteries. These carry the blood around your body. As the heart pushes this blood, forcing it to reach every area of your body, force is exerted against the walls of the arteries that carry the blood. This is called blood pressure. This force against the arteries walls has a range within which it’s safe for the body. When the normal range is exceeded, the condition becomes high blood pressure or hypertension.

High blood pressure is an accepted way of life in our world now. A lot of people  are affected by the lifestyle. Studies show that about 110 million Americans have high blood pressure or hypertension. And on a global scale, over 26 percent of all adults population is coping with this culture that is here to stay. You may wonder what causes this condition or what aggravates it. How can you prevent or control it?

Well, the exact cause of hypertension is not known till date. Only facts and factors have been isolated by health experts. Look here under to see many of the ones identified.
