An African epic

Drumbeats of the gods

The sun rises up in the morning and goes down in the evening. The birds sing melodiously in treetops and the insects whistle in their hiding in the darkness of the night. The old sits with their young and the young learn the ways of the clan. Then their young men, from being boys, become men with great strength and in this process they learn many lessons. They wither seasons and moons with courage and bravery, but only one thing could make them lose all these achievements. As for Emenike, simply lying to a kinsman and something considered bad for a titled man among this people cost him his life. He ended sadly. A man like Emenike as everyone knew and said openly does not come often into the world and when they come, they are not seen in every clan, but like a defeated man, he slowly allowed unforeseen occurrence to carry on or destiny which in the belief of many controlled the future and well-being of a man to befall him.
