1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 tablespoons of onions, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
12 ounces of ground turkey
½ teaspoon of smoked paprika
½ teaspoon of dried thyme 
¼ cup of sodium-reduced chicken stock
½ cup of water
1½ cups of kale, chopped

Method:

Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet, and saute the onions until they become translucent. Add the ground turkey and garlic to the skillet, and continue stir-frying until the meat is browned. 
Remove from the heat and transfer into the slow cooker pot. 
Mix in the beef stock, water, dried thyme and smoked paprika to the pot.
Set the slow cooker to LOW for 8 hours. 
At the last 15 minutes of cooking, mix in the kale to the chili until the leaves are wilted. 

1 tablespoon of canola oil 
1 onion, finely chopped
8 ounces of skinless chicken breasts, diced
1 teaspoon of mild curry powder
1 teaspoon of turmeric
1 teaspoon of allspice
1 teaspoon of cumin 
1 carrot, diced
2 cups of water

Method:

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onions until they become translucent. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Sear the chicken cubes in the skillet.
Return the onions to the skillet, and add in the curry powder, ground tumeric, ground cumin, and allspice powder. Stir to coat the chicken and onions well with the spices. 
Remove from the heat and transfer into the slow cooker pot. 
Add the carrots and water to the pot and stir to mix well. 
Set the slow cooker to HIGH and cook for 4 to 5 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.
