Sample text:

The sounds of girlish laughter rang out through the gardens.  King Sebastián looked on indulgently as he then turned to his queen and smiled.  “It sounds like she is having a grand time,” he commented.

“She is running about like a hoyden, perhaps I should …” she began worriedly, but he held up his hand to silence her condemnation of their princess, their only child.  He would not have had his girl be any other way.

“Let her be; she will be a child only once.”  He turned back to look out over the extensive gardens that led up to the castle, smiling again as he saw his daughter playing in the maze that had been built there last year.  It was just now over her head, but she knew the pathways well.  “Is that Lord Rosenblaum’s daughter I see?”

“Yes, Lord Rosenblaum implored me to indulge his daughter’s friendship,” Queen Isabellá answered, a small smile forming on her own lips as she watched her daughter completely confound the other little girl.  The maze wasn’t that tall yet, but it was over both girls’ heads.  If one didn’t know the paths as the princess did, it could get confusing.  From the balcony where the king and queen stood, they could easily see the various passages in and out.  “That poor man, left to raise his daughter alone.”

“The gel will be good for our daughter; she doesn’t allow the princess her own way all the time as the servants do.” The king watched the young girl get on her hands and knees and slip between the still growing hedges, find the young princess, and trip her.

“No fair, you cheated!” the princess accused.

“How is it cheating?” the other little girl demanded, standing up, her hands on her hips.
