I'm a professional translator and interpreter since 2009 and a Public Sworn translator and Interpreter (French <> Portuguese) since 2012. I've already translated some books.
I discovered Babelcube in 2018, created an account, and was soon contacted by an author who wanted me to translate a book. The subject seemed interesting, so I accepted the job.
I delivered on the agreed date and, although I had several interactions with the author during the process, after I delivered the book, he never replied to my messages.
He did not confirm my delivery on the website and simply disappeared.
That was in early 2019.
In 2024, the company contacted me, I explained the situation, and they said they would contact the author or confirm the delivery themselves. After months of waiting, I sent a message asking for confirmation and received no response.
In short, the experience was HORRIBLE, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND participating.
