Intermittent fasting: lose weight with nutritious recipes

(29b)

Are you struggling to lose weight and have tried countless weight loss programs only for you to get temporary results i.e. you lose weight while on the program then gain all the lost weight and some more shortly after being off the weight loss program? It feels frustrating to follow the so-called ‘bulletproof formulas’ to weight loss only for you to not have much to celebrate after following the ‘formula’ for some time. Worse still, it is frustrating when you read stories of people who say they have lost weight following a certain program only for you to not make any progress with the program because it is too hard to follow.

You might be thinking intermittent fasting sounds extreme, hard and dangerous but it's the exact opposite. Intermittent fasting is the most intuitive way for us to maintain our health. As modern society has progressed in leaps and bounds, our eating habits have changed along with it, but our physical bodies has gone through little to no change at all. This mismatch in progress has resulted in a laundry list of chronic illnesses that are not due to poor conditions but the very opposite! Our rich diets and excessive indulgence in sugar, fat and protein on a constant basis has overloaded our bodies' ability to regulate the way it was built to handle our nutritional needs.

Sample text:

Use tinfoil to line a baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. To make the salmon, combine ⅛ teaspoon salt and ⅛ teaspoon pepper. Sprinkle on the fillet. Heat ½ tablespoon olive oil in a pan. Sear the fillet on one side for four minutes or until golden brown. Place the fillet on the baking sheet, seared side up. Bake another four minutes.

To make the sauce, pour another ½ tablespoon of olive oil into the pan. Sauté two tablespoons thinly sliced onion for two minutes. Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper, ⅔ cup cherry tomatoes, and two tablespoons roughly chopped fresh basil. Cook another two minutes. Add ½ tablespoon balsamic vinegar and cook for one minute more.

To make the couscous, heat ½ cup water and a dash of olive oil in a small pot with a tight-fitting lid. When the water boils, pour in ¼ cup couscous, cover, and remove from the heat. Let the pot sit for five minutes until the couscous has absorbed all the water. Fluff with a fork.

Serve the salmon with a side of couscous, and garnish with the sauce. Have a salad with your favorite dressing as a side. Drink water, tea, or coffee.

Spread two slices of bread with butter on one side and mustard on the other. Layer smoked deli ham and slices of Gouda on the mustard side of the bread. Cook the sandwich in a hot pan, covered, until the bottom slice of bread is toasted and the cheese is melting. Uncover, flip the sandwich, and cook until the other side is toasted.

Have a handful of potato chips as a side. Drink water, tea, or coffee.
