Professional English and Spanish teacher and translator

My name is Vanessa Escobar and I am 32 years old. I am from Venezuela but I have been living in Cusco, Peru for almost 2 years. Previous to that, I lived in Colombia for 4 months and in Ecuador for a little over a year. I have a BA in Languages teaching and I have almost 10 years of experience as an English and Spanish teacher in 3 different countries.

My experience as a translator is not as wide as my experience as a teacher but even so, I have translated from research papers, accounting statements and book chapters to emails and web site sections.

I am currently leaving my teaching behind and focusing more on translating since I would like translating to be my main job from now on. I have always loved translating, and help people either making them understand something that could be of great value for their lives or getting their message across to more people. Teaching is great but as an ever-evolving person, I think it is time for me to change my priorities regarding work.

I always commit to my jobs and teaching and translating, especially books, demands a great deal of dedication this is why I am 100% committed to developing my professional life as a translator.
