About Shivani Singh
Shivani has written two novels, Secret of Sirikot and Lonely Gods published by Harper Collins and Hachette. Secret of Sirikot has been translated and published in Europe.
She has written and directed two plays, Night of Karwa Chauth and Kathgodam Express. Her plays have been acclaimed by Delhi audiences and have also toured through Haryana colleges.
She is a trained yoga instructor, (Yoga Shiromani) from the Sivananda school and a certified pranic healer of all levels.
She acquired an M.Phil in Philosophy from Delhi University and the UGC Junior Research Fellowship and the UGC NET certification.
For the last ten years she has mentored and conducted a positive psychology Creation Workshop for enhancing life skills.
In this time she has also been advocating Inclusion through her books, plays, blogs and activism. Her desire for Inclusion of all marginalised communities so far segregated from unaware mainstream society informs her work in the disability sector and inclusive education.
Since she started her career with a television company she is also familiar with filmmaking.
She has worked in various capacities, freelance producer, ad film maker, documentary, script writer and director with television channels and production houses.
She is currently preparing a Ph.D thesis on social cognitive neuroscience.
