French/Spanish>English translator with PhD in History - Traducteur français/espagnol>anglais, doctorat en histoire - Traductor francés/castellano>inglés, doctorado en historia

I have experience of translating a wide range of texts from French and Spanish into English, gained during an undergraduate degree in Modern and Medieval Languages at the Univeristy of Cambridge and an internship with the French translation agency InPuzzle. My academic background also encompasses literature and history, and I recently completed a PhD in the latter at the University of Glasgow. Furthermore, I have worked as as a proofreader and transcriber, roles which require attention to detail and a high degree of sensitivity to the nuances of language. This academic and professional background means that, alongside my knowledge of French and Spanish, I bring to my translation work an extensive knowledge and appreciation of the English language. I hope, through Babelcube, to apply my skills to bringing exciting works of fiction and non-fiction in French and Spanish to English-speaking audiences.

Tengo experiencia de traducir toda clase de textos, obtenida tanto en el curso de mis estudios de idiomas, literatura e historia en la Universidad de Cambridge como en mi trabajo como traductor profesional en una agencia francesa. He trabajado también como corrector y transcriptor, dos papeles que requieren un nivel muy alto de minuciosidad en cuanto al lenguaje. Además, acabo de terminar un doctorado en historia en la Universidad de Glasgow, lo que ha permitido que desarrolle aún más mis competencias lingüísticas, escribiendo mi tesis y presentando mi trabajo en artículos, blogs y conferencias. Esta amplia experiencia indica los conocimientos profundos del inglés que apoyan mis traducciones, un aspecto del trabajo que, para mí, resulta tan importante como el conocimiento de la lengua de partida. Espero poder utilizar estas competencias para traer textos originales y apasionantes a lectores anglohablantes.
