My name is Maria João Rita and I am Portuguese.
I have a graduation in Languages and Literatures (English and German) and learnt French at l' Alliance Française. Furthermore I accomplished post-graduate studies in International Relations in1996.
My first steps as a translator took place in the end of the eighties and more professionally since 1991.
Back then I worked in a firm in the area of industrial property. There I translated correspondence to and from English and German (communications exchanged with well-known companies and law firms) and various documents. Ten years later I started translating patents in the area of pharmaceutical chemistry and industrial food processing. I also translated medical reports in the area of orthopedics.
Nowadays I am freelance translator for the following subjects: documents, legal documents, contracts, corporate texts, products, marketing for products (for instance, cosmetics, sports), websites, manuals (non-technical), patents ( pharmaceuticals), healthcare, tourism.
