Marcella mattar

I am not only a translator but also a published writer in brazilian portuguese, so you can be sure that your text will be written in the best use of the portuguese language. I have one book of short stories entitled "O movimento do oceano" (The movement of the ocean), that won a competition from the state I live in (Rio Grande do Sul, south of Brazil) and got published in 2012.

I was born in Scotland but my parents are brazilian, so I had a bilingual education. We moved back to Brazil early in my childhood, where I especialized in Portuguese. However, both english and portuguese are mother tongues for me. My degree is in Portuguese - Creative writing and Literature major and currently am working with freelance translations, portuguese proofreading, theory of literature and creative writing.

The fields that I am more familiar to work with: Literature, Buddhism, Travel, Psychology

Writing and studying literature has been my life since I was nine and started writing poems on a little notebook. Doing literary translation works is a form of joining together my love for writing and  for languages.

Author review:
I worked with Marcella on the Portuguese translation of my global study of poetry, Clearing The Tangled Wood: Poetry as a Way of Seeing the World. She was a pleasure to work with and meticulous in her translation. I highly recommend her.
