I was born in the province Limburg in the Netherlands, where the local dialect became my native language next to Dutch. I have always had an interest in other cultures, countries and languages which has brought me to several European and African countries. In 1994 I emigrated to the Caribbean island Curaçao, where people of lots of different descends come together in a relatively small area and it is quite common to use 3 or 4 different languages in one conversation.
Next to reading I like to paint and sculpture and spend time with my 3 grown up children. I also like puzzles and create nonogram (paint by number) puzzles. I play and teach bridge and spend a lot of time online, always discovering new things and learning more.
Careerwise I started working in a library during study, then had a carreer of over 30 years in the IT sector until illness forced me to work homebound. As reading and books are some of my passions translation was a logical next step.
I love children's books and thrillers as well as literary books and novels, but I also like cooking and am sometimes a vegan. In my carreer in IT I have read many business related books and know which terminology to use in those type of books as well. There aren't many books that don't have my interest, so if you want to use my translating or editing services feel free to ask.
Next to the languages in the list i also master Papiamentu, the local language of the Dutch Caribbean islands.
